Atlanta is shaping up to be an especially worthwhile destination for enthusiasts this October. WagonFest has announced a new Atlanta gathering for Sunday, October 11, creating a longroof-focused follow-up to Luftgekühlt 12 taking place in the Atlanta area the day before.
WagonFest Atlanta will run from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Mercedes-Benz USA headquarters in Sandy Springs. The gathering is being organized with support from Mercedes-Benz Club of America Peachtree Section, The MB Market, MotoEscape Atlanta, Peachtree Chapter BMW CCA, Audi Club Georgia and Saab Club Atlanta.
As the name suggests, eligibility is refreshingly straightforward: bring a wagon.
Organizers are expecting a mix ranging from modern high-performance wagons and classic European estates to boxy Swedish longroofs, Audi Avants and less common Japanese-market machinery. WagonFest is also encouraging the sorts of cars that tend to make wagon culture particularly interesting, including modified examples, period-accessorized cars and anything carrying the practically obligatory rooftop cargo box.
The location is fitting. Mercedes-Benz USA has called the Atlanta area home since relocating its U.S. headquarters there, with its corporate campus located at One Mercedes-Benz Drive in Sandy Springs.
Two Shows, One Atlanta Weekend
The timing makes WagonFest particularly interesting for anyone already considering a trip to Atlanta for Luftgekühlt 12.
Luftgekühlt’s 12th major gathering takes place Saturday, October 10 at Town at Trilith in Fayetteville, south of Atlanta. The event marks Luftgekühlt’s first visit to the American South following its 2025 East Coast gathering in Durham, North Carolina. This year’s event continues the familiar Luft formula of combining significant air-cooled Porsches with architecture, design and a carefully selected setting.
Town at Trilith is the mixed-use community developed alongside Trilith Studios, about 25 minutes south of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Luftgekühlt opens for early admission at 9:00 AM Saturday, with general admission beginning at 10:00 AM. An official welcome party is also scheduled for Friday evening, October 9.
That effectively creates a three-day enthusiast weekend: Luftgekühlt festivities Friday evening and Saturday followed by an entirely different flavor of automotive culture at WagonFest on Sunday.

WagonFest Atlanta Details
WagonFest entry is $25 per wagon and includes a display space, commemorative WagonFest Atlanta poster and sticker. Avants members can obtain a complimentary vehicle entry through the organizers. Spectator admission is free and does not require a ticket.

With Luftgekühlt drawing the Porsche crowd to Fayetteville on Saturday and WagonFest gathering longroofs at Mercedes-Benz USA on Sunday, the combination offers a good excuse to turn what might have been a single-show trip into a full automotive weekend in Atlanta.
