Formula 1 is turning its pre-season launch celebration into a destination event for 2027, announcing a three-day F1 Live Milan festival in Italy from February 18–20.
Scheduled shortly before the beginning of the 2027 Formula 1 season, the event expands on the F1 75 Live presentation held at The O2 in London in 2025. Rather than concentrating everything into a single evening, Milan will combine a three-day public fan festival with a separate one-night show featuring the sport’s drivers and teams.
For traveling Formula 1 fans, that effectively adds another date to the calendar before the racing season even begins.
THREE DAYS OF FORMULA 1 IN MILAN
F1 Live Milan will be divided into two main components. The Milan Fan Festival will operate throughout February 18, 19 and 20, with Formula 1 promising activities designed to recreate some of the atmosphere of the fan zones found in Grand Prix host cities.
Specific attractions and programming have not yet been announced.
The centerpiece comes on Thursday, February 18 with F1 The Show, a one-night live production scheduled to include appearances by drivers and Team Principals representing all 11 Formula 1 teams. Music and other entertainment will also form part of the program, although performers have yet to be revealed.
Formula 1 also hasn’t announced the Milan venue, describing it for now only as an iconic location in the city. More details on both the Fan Festival and F1 The Show are expected over the coming months.
FROM LONDON TO MILAN
The concept follows F1 75 Live, staged at London’s O2 in February 2025 as part of Formula 1’s 75th anniversary. That event brought all 10 teams and their drivers together for a combined season-launch presentation, with teams revealing their 2025 liveries during a live entertainment production.
Formula 1 says the broadcast reached 7.5 million viewers across 37 territories.
Milan takes over for the second iteration of the concept, but with a substantially expanded format. The move also puts the event in one of Formula 1’s traditional heartlands. Milan is roughly 20 kilometers from Monza, home of the Italian Grand Prix and one of the championship’s most historic circuits.
The timing could make the event particularly interesting for enthusiasts planning an Italian automotive trip. Beyond its proximity to Monza, Milan provides relatively easy access to northern Italy’s wider automotive and design culture, while Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani and the Motor Valley region are farther southeast and could be incorporated into a longer itinerary.
TICKETS COMING LATER IN 2026
Tickets for F1 Live Milan have not yet gone on sale. Formula 1 says sales will begin later in 2026, with fans also able to pre-register their interest ahead of the release.
Pricing, individual ticket categories and whether access to the Milan Fan Festival will require a separate ticket from F1 The Show have not yet been detailed.
Formula 1 also plans broad remote coverage for those unable to travel to Italy, continuing the broadcast and streaming component established with F1 75 Live.
For those who do make the trip, F1 Live Milan offers something different from attending a Grand Prix. There won’t be racing at the center of the weekend, but there will be a rare opportunity to see the entire Formula 1 grid assembled in one city immediately before the new season gets underway.
