The 83rd Goodwood Members’ Meeting returned on April 18–19, 2026, bringing a sun-soaked weekend of racing, demonstrations and off-track festivities to the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit in West Sussex, England.
Hosted by the Goodwood Road Racing Club, the Members’ Meeting is designed as an access-driven alternative to the more widely known Festival of Speed and retro classic Revival. Founded by Charles Gordon-Lennox, the event recreates the atmosphere of the original BARC Members’ Meetings of the 1950s and 1960s, blending competitive racing with a relaxed, club-like environment.
Unlike traditional concours or historic showcases, the Members’ Meeting centers on live competition with inter-house competition where houses are set up in British boarding school fashion. Think of it sort of it like Hogwarts only less magic and more motorsport.

Grids span multiple eras and disciplines, from pre-war machinery to 1990s touring cars, alongside motorcycles and open-wheel Formula cars. The result is a dynamic program that prioritizes wheel-to-wheel action over static display, with spectators granted unusually close access to the paddock and participants.
The 2026 edition leaned heavily into motorsport heritage, with headline demonstrations celebrating the careers of James Hunt and Barry Sheene, while Jenson Button returned to the cockpit of his championship-winning Brawn GP car for the first time in several years.
Touring cars also played a central role, with one of the largest gatherings of Super Touring-era machines forming both static and on-track displays, culminating in a competitive shootout that underscored the continued appeal of the category.
Beyond the racing, the Members’ Meeting maintains a distinct character through its social and experiential elements. From themed hospitality areas to the event’s signature House Competition—where drivers and attendees contribute points through on-track performance and offbeat activities alike—the weekend balances serious motorsport with a sense of camaraderie that feels increasingly rare in modern racing environments.
Notably, the entire 2026 event was run using sustainable fuel, reflecting a broader shift within historic motorsport toward reducing environmental impact without compromising the authenticity of the experience.
With its combination of competitive racing, curated demonstrations and a deliberately intimate setting, the Goodwood Members’ Meeting continues to occupy a unique space on the global automotive calendar—one that prioritizes participation and access as much as spectacle.
